OUR MEMBERSHIP

Our IDA membership is for equestrians that would like to show in the Intercollegiate Dressage Association (IDA). IDA is a national organization that holds dressage competitions for students in college. Universities compete against each other at first according to their region and then at the national level toward the end of the competition season. This organization allows riders to compete without their own horse as well as gain experience riding different horses. The goal is to level the playing field and create an affordable competition avenue for college students. In competition, there are two types of classes at varying levels-- dressage tests and dressage seat equitation. The dressage tests are from USDF and dressage seat equitation is a "flat class" that is judged upon the rider's position and ability to ride. There are four levels: Introductory, Lower Training Level, Upper Training Level, and First Level. Riders collect points throughout competitions to qualify for nationals and for year-end ribbons.
